My Professional Mission Statement
As a highly qualified mathematics educator I will educate, cultivate, and motivate my students to excel in their studies to become academic leaders that will positively impact our society.
My Philosophy of Education
The ultimate goal of education should be to give students the opportunity to make informed decisions so that they may become positive members of our society.
I believe in the use of instructional technologies including but not limited to: computers, calculators, and manipulatives. Hands-on learning, or constructivism, is a beneficial method to master and teach math skills because students will intake more knowledge and develop concrete thinking skills. Also, through hands-on learning, students will hold creative thoughts and ideas and creative outlets should always be encouraged.
Students shall be active participants in education through listening to direct instruction and engaging in group and independent activities. Students will be able to think independently, work cooperatively with others, and communicate effectively to the teacher and other students.
As the teacher, I will disseminate information to the students and allow them to work with it through constructive activities. I will inspire and motivate my students to the best of my ability to reach their full potential as independent thinkers and cooperative workers as they follow the educational path. To help attain this goal, I will provide a safe and uninhibited classroom environment.
I believe in strong partnerships and regular communication with parents and community members to help our students maximize their options, learning and interest.
